年近三十的管浩事业一事无成，一份说是靠近梦想的职业，与好友隔三差五的把酒言欢，虽然有诸多不顺，但慢慢的他与好友一样似乎也习惯了这样的生活。直到遇见了儿时的伙伴、初恋情人，看见他们风光无限，使得管浩再也按耐不住。为了梦想，为了成功他决定铤而走险。。解放战争时期，槐树庄的郭大娘带领贫农团的积极分子，展开轰轰烈烈的土改运动，同地主崔老昆的儿子崔治国进行了坚决斗争。解放后，开展合作化运动，各种困难接踵而来，贫农户虽分了土地却无力耕种，老党员刘老成满足单干，不愿走合作化道路，中农李满仓只顾个人发家致富，两条路线斗争日渐激烈。郭大娘顶着儿子在朝鲜牺牲的悲痛，用实际行动影响教育周围的群众。五七年整风开始后，不少坏人在村里煽阴风、点鬼火，唯恐天下不乱。郭大娘在上级党组织领导下，顶住了各方压力，在三面红旗的光辉照耀下，成立了人民公社……。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
