全集讲述以当时香港的移民潮为背景，由董骠与沈殿霞主演，部份外景于加拿大温哥华拍摄。女一号香港著名多栖女星沈殿霞（肥肥），亲切、可爱、豁达、善良,有“香港开心果”之誉。而饰演剧中肥肥大女儿的是亚姐出身的翁虹，在剧中她的扮相纯情动人。男一号是已故的香港著名演员兼马评人董骠。除了评马及主持赛马节目外，董骠亦参与为数不少的电视及电影演出，先后出演60多部电影及200多部(集)电视剧。该剧是他最为经典的荧屏代表作之一，在剧中他与“开心果”肥肥联手炮制了一出打打闹闹的喜剧。。In 1953, Mamadou Touré directed Mouramani, a film considered as the first ever made by a black French-speaking director.
