大学生萧瑜出生在大兴安岭区呼玛县贫困落后的一个村落。她在乡亲们的资助下上了大学，学习优异的她本来可以留在北京，可是在父亲的劝阻下，把她留在了家乡，用她所学带领乡亲们种草药走上了致富的道路。。过气的摇滚乐经济人里奇·兰斯（比尔·默瑞 Bill Murray 饰）在阿富汗为他的客户张罗最后一场巡演时，发现自己独自一人身在喀布尔，身无分文也没有护照。潦倒的他发现了拥有天籁嗓音的年轻女孩萨利马（丽姆·卢巴尼 Leem Lubani 饰），于是他决定将女孩送上当地最受欢迎的选秀节目“阿富汗之星”……。Anna is becoming lost in the loneliness of her own world when she discovers she can visit another, a house she has drawn herself and occupied by a young disabled boy. But as she discovers more of the links between her fantasy world and the mundane present, she is drawn only deeper into a dream...。
