影片讲述的故事是，1945年８月，由于美军将要袭击日本本土，I-77潜水艇受命出击，作为最终防卫线。舰长仓本（玉木宏饰）拒绝使用人间鱼雷“回天”（一种由人操纵的自杀性鱼雷），曾经只用普通的鱼雷就击沉过数只敌舰，令美军闻风丧胆。然而，他的好友有泽舰长（堂珍嘉邦饰）的潜水艇却被身经百战的勇士，斯图尔特舰长的驱逐舰“Percival”号给击沉了。仓本心中悲愤无比，奔赴最终决战。在他心中有一份乐谱，里面凝聚着有泽的妹妹志津子的祝福……。A young American woman moves to London to pursue the man of her dreams. A young idealistic woman, Zena, is in love with Bob, an American ex-pat living in North London, amongst the homeless, pursuing his vision of a street theatre retelling of "Les Enfants du Paradis".
