日本科学技术大学的教授上田次郎（阿部宽饰）主攻物理学。他向全日本的超能力者发出挑战，“如果能在我面前证明超能力的存在，将获得奖赏”。这一广告，吸引了落魄的魔术师，曾经日本第一魔术师山田刚三的女儿，山田奈绪子（仲间由纪恵饰）的注意。本想骗取奖励的奈绪子与上田成为了勾心斗角的伙伴。时常闹矛盾的二人卷入一个个超能力事件，并将真相戳穿。 终于，上田次郎以他们的经历写了一本破解虚假超能力的书，结果吸引来了一个自称来自六墓村的男人。据他说，每年的1月11日，他经营旅馆都会死人。这是诅咒，还是超能力，又或是不可告人的犯罪？上田次郎与山田奈绪子再度联手，充满悬疑推理与科学知识的《圈套》第2季就这样开始了。。This series is above the expectations they had about it.
